Throughout 2013 we held a series of new events, Flourish, to energise and inspire senior people within the not-for-profit sector, especially when we are all trying to do more with less.

The first event was in March (and repeated in May due to demand) in a spectacular venue at the top of the Centre Point building in central London. We used the surroundings to focus creatively on issues of perspective and panorama.

Finding a focus

Finding a focus

We built on the discussion in these sessions to create the second event, at the Jerwood Space SE1 in July. Here, we looked at contemporary art and sculpture to reflect on meaningful detail and intricacy, and on achieving clarity.

The final event, in October, explored the way we each communicate about our work. In the vibrant Faber & Faber Academy Space in the heart of literary London, we considered the words we use, the effect they have and how we can make the most compelling case for what we do.

  1. thanks so much for the second Flourish event this month! it really helped my thinking about key work issues and meant I could immediately unblock something I needed to complete urgently. What helped was the link between the visual art and its stunning detail and my work situation. I shall always be grateful to the polar bear!
